Question: Do we need to arrange additional training now that teachers are more familiar with the technology to increase diverse usage of the boards?
Laura here! Both Shannon & I agree that we would love some additional training as to how we could improve & increase our use of the boards. Also, I was thinking about how we could provided a school-wide platform (like this Wiki, perhaps) for sharing promethian tips & tricks like found on our sites & ideas section. Should we create another wiki or is there a better option through our shared common folder, etc.?

Kristen's input: Jillian and I use our boards for: attendance, videos and short clips related to instruction, interactive websites, flipcharts that we have designed, displaying student work (powerpoint presentations), saving graphic organizers between our four different classes, etc. Yes, I think further training would certainly be beneficial. (Does this Wiki have a
spellcheck?)

Jeanne had asked about document software for the ELMO and I do have something called Image Mate under my applications and ELMO section. I've never used it before, but it does look like the kind of program you were talking about. I tried to do it, but haven't gotten very far. I'll keep working with it and I'll let you know if I get the hang of it (though it would be nice if someone could come in and do a little 30 minute intro on it or something. :)
Clinton School may receive two additional Promethean smart boards. Location for installation was discussed.Currently there are two smart boards in each grade level except Kindergarten. Time of installation not yet determined.

Possible locations were:
room 123 - presently used by OT/PT

Several teachers also have indicated desire to house Promethean: Kristie Kustra (grade 4) and Karen Dubinsky (grade 1)
ACTION ITEM: Tech team was asked to survey their assigned teachers and report back to the committee how Prometheans are being used now.

*math journal pages *doc. projector for various subjects *internet/promethian planet & interactive power points *online timer *WWW - various activities.

could be incorporated into a future literacy suite
would not be used as a classroom in future years.

Rooms 115 and 215 - currently not in use
Advantages: first and second floor locations, can be accessed by multiple classrooms this year
Considerations: could be used as a classroom in future
Conference room - can be used for up to 18 individuals, small group instruction
